Stephen Park

GBR Olympic Manager Stephen Park OBE . Born in Glasgow, Lived in Helensburgh and  learnt his sailing in Mirror dinghies and 420s. Stephen studied at the Scottish School of Physical Education, going on to get a Diploma in Management Studies from Newcastle University and later a Masters degree in Recreational Management from Loughborough University. He went on to work for the RYA Scotland and the Welsh Yachting Association. A naturally gifted and talented sailor, Stephen competed in both the 470 and Tornado disciplines at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. He also has experience of the Olympic Programme, supporting the past Olympic Manager at the RYA’s headquarters and more recently overseeing the Olympic Development Squad. HSC are proud and delighted that "Sparky" has been awarded the OBE for services to Sport in the 2008 New Year's honours list while manager of the British Olympic Sailing Team.
