Come Dine With Me (HSC Fund Raiser)
To raise funds to help pay for our lovely new clubhouse and have some fun at the same time during the cold dark winter months.
Contest Rules
1. Approximately 6 couples (or household) agree to enter the contest.
2. The contest runs for the same number of months as number of couples entered in the competition.
3. The contest runs approximately from October through to March.
4. Each couple agrees to host a three–course dinner party at their house in one of the months.
5. The menu for each party should be sent to each guest prior to the party.
6. Each couple will bring booze and pay the hosts £10 to attend the party. The hosts will forward all the money collected at their party to the club funds.
7. The hosts should attempt to provide the ‘best’ dinner party possible. Themed dinner party nights (such as French night, Mexican night, School Dinners night) are encouraged.
8. Throughout the dinner party, guests should assess the evening and give consideration of factors such as preparedness, ambiance, originality, inventiveness, conversation, jollity, quality of any jokes/arguments, flow of the booze and of course the meal.
9. Towards the end of the evening (or after the meal is consumed) the hosts should allow the guests some privacy to make their decisions. Each couple will be asked to provide a mark for the dinner party out of 10 and if desired give any additional comments. The marks and comments by each couple will be recorded and then sealed in an envelope.
10. Guests should also consider (and keep secret) whether their hosts deserve to be nominated for one or more special prizes. Additional prizes could include for example the most colourful and/or pungent and/or tasteless dish, the longest most boring conversation, the longest delay between courses, the most mismatched crockery/cutlery, the best table setting/cloth and so on. Nominations for prizes should also be sealed in the same envelope mentioned above.
11. After the final party night, an evening of prize giving will be organised at the HSC clubhouse. The dinner party night envelopes will be opened and the marks processed to reveal the winner of the 2009/2010 Come Dine With Me contest. The winners of the additional special prizes will also be revealed at the prize giving night.
12.The winning menu and recipes on how to create such a sensational meal along with tips by the winners on how to create the perfect dinner party night will be published on the HSC website.
13. Please remember that it’s not the winning that’s important, it’s the ..........winning. Good luck!
