At HSC we organize occasional 'Musters' where a number of boats sail to a pre-determined anchorage for a barbecue, some beach games and a jolly evening around the fire. Many people sailing home the following day do so with a slightly sore head.

Many people, especially those with keelboats, like to head off for a day, a week or a month, cruising around the west coast of Scotland, dropping anchor near a friendly hostelry and meeting old & new friends of similar mind.

And remember, the best cruising log submitted to the committee by 31stOct is elegible for the Cruising Cup. In 2006 it was won by Clive and Flora Reeves on their maxi 1000, Lyrebird, for their summer cruise around Scotland's beautiful West Coast. During their voyage they completed 184 Miles under engine,  150 Motor sailing  and  315 under sail.

There are many moorings maintained by hotels and the tourist board where the weary sailor can tie up to head ashore for a hearty meal and to sample to local brew
